Immediate reconstruction of nasal alar defects after malignant skin tumor excision without mohs surgery

Objectives: The National Comprehensive Cancer Network guidelines state that any nasal region with squamous or basal cell skin cancer is at high risk. Although Mohs surgery the gold-standard procedure for many types of cancer, it not applicable worldwide. A mean 1.7 stage performed in cases tumors. Nasal obstruction a problem surgery. In this study, we aimed to investigate alar nonmelanoma malignant tumor excision using immediate reconstruction without Methods: Ten patients underwent between 2018 and 2022. inclusion criterion were ulcerated lesions measuring less than 1 cm diameter, which suspected either as carcinoma (BCC) (SCC) on dermatoscopic examination, who had intact mucosa during anterior rhinoscopy. Results: follow-up duration was 26 months. No patient required re-operation because an excisional biopsy result involved border proximity. We observed no serious complications long-term recurrences. Conclusion: recommend our algorithm whom applicable.
